Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides – All Access Arial Pass to the filming locations in Kauai

Hey Pirates of the Caribbean fans!! the new installment in the series opens tomorrow, June 20th, 2011 at theaters worldwide :0)

The staff of Island Breeze Travel will be one of the first in line to see the movie but we also wanted to put a bit of information out to some of you who might be considering a trip to the islands of Hawaii. Many of the scenes were filmed in various locations on Oahu and Kauai. Farther down in the post, we outline our recommendations for a trip to Kauai and an excursion that will give you VIP viewing of some of the popular filming locations with some of the most awe-inspiring backdrops on the face of the planet.

But first, a bit about the new movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides.

Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love -- or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

The official On Stranger Tides trailer promises all the usual Pirates of the Caribbean fare, sword-fighting, and sharp wit. Geoffrey Rush as Capt. Hector Barbossa, Depp’s Keith Richards-esque portrayal of Capt. Jack Sparrow, and some new elements. Among the new additions—mermaids, zombies, 3D effects, a love interest played by Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane as the legendary pirate Blackbeard and lots of Hawaii scenery.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opens in theaters nationwide on May 20, 2011.

Official Trailer

Fly with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters

For a VIP aerial tour of all the great filming locations for Pirates Of The Caribbean – On Stranger Tides, we recommend flying with the company Captain Jack Sparrow parlay’s with! Blue Hawaiian Helicopters was the official inter island helicopter transport service for Mr. Depp while he was on-island and they have the inside scoop and can give you a perspective into the filming like no one else can.

Captain Jack Sparrow arrives in Hawaii for the first day of filming!

Island Breeze Travel has a great relationship with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and we would be happy to arrange a VIP tour befitting a true Pirates Of The Caribbean fan!!

We recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. The staff here is awesome and the concierge staff in particular bends over backwards to make sure you are well taken care of. Plus, being that it’s Hawaii – No Passports Required!!

Current promotions: Free Breakfast Buffet for 2, Every 5 night free, Breakfast for 2 and 20%!, Kids Stay FREE!, and more!!

Why Use A Travel Agent?

"Why should I use a travel agent?" As a veteran travel executive, that's a question I'm often asked. Today, with the overwhelming number of sources for travel information (the Internet, cable television, newspapers, magazines, guidebooks, etc.), it's no wonder the consumer is confused. Yet that's precisely why the services of a professional travel consultant are more valuable than ever.

In January, the television news magazine, 20/20, reported the results of a test in which travel agents beat consumers at uncovering the best airfares. However, it is much more than the "lowest fare" that provides the compelling argument for a good travel agent.

The best thing an agent can do is to match up a traveler with the vacation that's right for them. The professional travel consultant builds relationships with their clients to learn their interests and lifestyles, as well as their dispositions.

Below is a list of some of the important services, which are either provided FREE or for a nominal charge, by travel agents:

1. Distilling the product information: Through an on-going and time-consuming process of familiarization, continuing education and customer feedback, the agent becomes a travel expert.

2. Investigating and supplying competitive information: No single supplier is going to advise a consumer that a better route or a better fare is available on a competing carrier.

3. Staying abreast of the most current and timely promotions: Via daily faxes, agent-only e-mail transmissions, and their relationships with their district sales managers, agents are obtaining the most current promotional information.

4. Analyzing the current promotions: The cheapest is not always the best.

5. Clarifying the fine print, such as cancellation penalties and restrictions: Again, the benefits of a professional's experience can save a traveler money . . . and headaches.

6. Making recommendations for travel-related options: Travel agents share the to pack for different travel options.

7. Simplifying the research and subsequent transaction: Like a personal shopper, agents can provide one-stop shopping for travelers who require air arrangements, rental cars, cruise accommodations and hotel stays - with suggestions that are in the best interest of the client, not the supplier.

8. Enhancing the trip with value-added benefits and amenities: Agents can add to the client's experience by sending a bottle of wine, providing a special land package, a specific escort or other customer amenities.

9. Using their clout to obtain the best possible in seemingly impossible situations: Whether it's airline seats, hotel rooms or cruise space, the travel agent has more buying power than the consumer.

10. Getting problems resolved: The agent serves as the consumer's advocate in the event something inadvertently goes wrong.

The use of outside service providers for many transactions, such as tax preparation, isn't questioned. Similarly, if one is going to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars, as well as a good chunk of valuable leisure time, it makes great sense to use a professional.

Sandals Resorts Launches "Greatest Love Story" Contest

Sandals Resorts is launching a “Greatest Love Story” contest, under which consumers can upload a video of their personal love story to the Sandals website.

The contest coincides with the resort’s 30th anniversary.

Sand Hearts

In every month for six months thereafter, a Sandals Resorts panel of judges will pick a finalist, and the public will have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite video. Videos that are chosen each month will become eligible for either the contest's grand prize or runner-up prizes.

The couple whose story is considered by Sandals to be the most compelling will win a seven-night vacation to Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica, the company's first resort, and will be invited to attend the company's exclusive 30th anniversary celebration. The couple will stay in one of the resort's luxurious, butler-serviced Love Nest Suites, complete with private luxury airport transfers, and will be treated to a Beautiful Beginnings-themed Sandals Wedding by Martha Stewart or a complimentary vow renewal ceremony.

In addition to roundtrip airline tickets, the grand prize winner will also receive a signature West Indian couples' massage at the award-winning Red Lane Spa, plus a sunset catamaran cruise from Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours. The six remaining finalists will win three-night vacations for two to any Sandals Resort in Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Antigua or The Bahamas. Entries must be submitted by Aug. 14, 2011, for consideration. For more information, visit http://www.sandals.com/greatestlovestory

SANDALS RESORTS CONTINUES SANDALS GIVES BACK FUNDRAISING PROGRAM FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Caribbean’s Leading Resort Company Aligns with Local Travel Agents to Assist Organizations in Raising Money.

No stranger to community-based and charitable organizations, Sandals Resorts, along with sister-brands Beaches Resorts, The Royal Plantation Collection and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts, is proud to announce the re-launch of the highly successful Sandals Gives Back fundraising program.  Now in its second year, the program offers fundraising groups in the United States and Canada the opportunity to receive donations for their cause by joining forces with their favorite Sandals Resorts travel agents.

Between October 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011, organizations will have the exclusive opportunity to team up with dedicated Sandals Resorts travel agents during their next fundraising season to earn up to $250 in donations for each vacation package sold through their group.  For any vacation booked to a Sandals Resort, Beaches Resort, Royal Plantation Collection member or Grand Pineapple Beach Resort as a result of the organization’s referral or outreach, the travel agent will donate $100 directly to the organization’s efforts.

To raise additional funds, groups can also invite their dedicated travel agent to host a Sandals Caribbean Night or set up a managed table display during their next fundraising event.  For each resulting booking to a Sandals Resort or Beaches Resort made within 10 days of this event, Sandals will make a supplementary $150 donation per booking to the organization.

Associations and organizations can work with their Sandals Resorts-dedicated travel agent to put together a successful campaign and promote their fundraiser program throughout the community with flyers, posters, ads and online banners and web pages.  To qualify, the travel agent must sign an agreement with their Business Development Manager, and vacation packages must be booked between October 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011 for completed travel by January 31, 2012.

For more information about the Sandals Gives Back fundraising program contact Mark at Island Breeze Travel.

Disabled Diving at Beaches Turks and Caicos

Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages and Spa becomes the first to welcome disabled guests above and below the Turks & Caicos.

BCHlogo NEW03 black_jpThe dive team at the Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages and Spa has gone a step further to enable disabled guests by receiving their Handicap Scuba Association (HSA) certification this week. Under the guidance of recognized Course Director Mark Rausch of Poseidon Handicap Scuba Adventures, the team of 12 instructors underwent vigorous training in a three-day certification seminar to update their skills, which enables them to teach handicapped persons to scuba dive while addressing their special needs.

The course further offered insightful theory, followed by a series of confined and open water exercises, designed to simulate disabilities by ”acting out” the parts. This exercise created an atmosphere where instructors actually experienced what it is like to be a physically impaired diver. Rausch, who is also President and Founder of Poseidon Handicap Scuba Adventures and holds a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certification commented, “Scuba diving for the disabled is a reality,” he continued, “The HSA is empowering those for whom the physical, social and recreational enjoyment of diving might otherwise have been foreclosed.”

Beaches Disabled DivingMichael Clark, Beaches Resorts Water Sports Manager, who was pleased that his department received this special training commented, “Scuba diving is the sports where gravity is not an issue,” he further stated, “we are delighted to be able to offer our disabled guests the full value of our ‟Luxury Included‟ facility including equal water sports opportunity that caters to their special needs.”

The Providenciales based dive shop is the first in the resort chain, as well as the Turks & Caicos to receive HSA certification training. With this new certification, resort instructors are now certified to train physically challenged individuals to dive.

The course included certification standards such special training considerations, lifting techniques, wet suit donning and paraplegic and quadriplegic training. Other training elements of the course included familiarizing instructors with psychological adjustment to disabilities such as spinal injury, traumatic brain injury, Cerebral Palsy, amputations, hearing and sight impaired, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy. Handicap Scuba Association is made up of over 4000 underwater educators, with disabilities and supporting members, located in over 45 countries.

The handicapped Scuba Association is dedicated to insuring that the people with disabilities are given the same opportunities to receive quality training, certification, and dive adventures as every other dive enthusiast.

Sandals' Whitehouse Reopens on Jamaica's South Shore

Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa reopened following four months of upgrades and renovations to the Luxury Included resort, on pace with original estimates set in August by Gordon “Butch” Stewart, chairman and founder of Sandals Resorts.

The renovations to the resort further enhance the Luxury Included experience. Following the project, changes to the resort property included upgrades to soft goods and furnishings throughout the property and renovations to all resort restaurants, the main lobby area and treatment rooms at the resort’s exclusive Red Lane Spa.

Recently named one of the top hotels in the Caribbean by Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards, Sandals Whitehouse is set within a 500-acre nature reserve on Jamaica’s undiscovered south coast. Itineraries – all eight days long – include: The Bahamas – the Abaco Islands, including Great Guana Cay and Man-O-War Cay, and quaint towns such as Treasure Cay and Hope Town; French West Indies and Dutch Antilles – St. Martin, St. Barts, Anguilla, and the deserted islands of Prickly Pear Cay; Mayan Riviera and Yucatan – Mayan ruins, the lifestyle of Isla Mujeres, Cancun, and the beaches and natural parks of Contoy; St. Vincent and the Grenadines – Mustique, Bequia, Tobago Cays and Mayreau Island; and British Virgin Islands – Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada, Peter Island and Norman Island.

Each program features snorkeling along spectacular reefs, swimming, pristine (and in some cases secluded) beaches, picturesque views, and magnificent underwater marine life.

Scuba diving is an optional excursion that can be added upon request. All programs can be customized to suit the individual tastes, interests and budgets of a specific traveler.

All of Kensington's Caribbean cruises use Lagoon 440 catamarans with luxury accommodations for up to eight guests.

Providing ample privacy, comfort and storage space, each cabin features a queen-size berth with individual reading lamps, hanging closet, drawers, cupboards, and a bathroom with toilet, vanity, sink, medicine cabinet and shower/faucet.

Internet is limited to certain locations and not available in all destinations. Travelers can book a single stateroom and enjoy the company of two or three other adult couples, reserve all the cabins for family and friends, or charter the entire catamaran "just for two" for the ultimate private escape.

All sailing is done during the day; catamarans are anchored at night in protected coves and bays to assure a restful night's sleep. An experienced captain and professional hostess/chef, who focus on delivering optimum quality, comfort and service, accompany each trip.

Chefs spend weeks preparing a top-class menu to present the guests so they can dine in style while sailing the Caribbean. Rates for the Caribbean catamaran cruises start at $2,391 per person, based on double occupancy, and are dependent upon the specific itinerary and travel dates.

Kensington Tours offers custom private-guided tours to over 80 countries around the world.

Each resort also continues to absorb the costs of government administrative fees, a savings of up to US$300, for couples staying seven nights or longer. “After nearly 45 years of marriage, I haven’t forgotten what it was like when we were first starting out: every penny counts, “ said Hon. John Issa, chairman of SuperClubs Resorts. “We want our brides and grooms to have memorable weddings without worrying about breaking the bank.

Our destination weddings are chic, smart and within reach at a fraction of the price of today’s average affair.” Specially designed to enhance SuperClubs’ complimentary wedding package, which includes Champagne and sweet treats upon arrival in an upgraded room, the personal services of a resort wedding planner, wedding cake, flowers, bouquet and boutonnière, music, professional photographer, guest passes, minister, marriage license, affidavits, private candlelit dinner and a honeymoon breakfast in bed, the “Ultimate Budget Wedding” package offers newly tailored add-ons.

Pre-marital stress will drift away during the included 30-minute “Walking Down the Aisle” couples massage, while wedding guests can also indulge at the Blue Mahoe Spa with 15 percent off all treatments. Following the guaranteed sunset hour wedding ceremony, newlyweds can escape to their honeymoon retreat where they will enjoy petal turndown service, in-room chilled Champagne, a decadent dessert tray, and romantic music playing. Beyond the resort, island escapades await and those looking to explore can take advantage of the two-for-one Chukka Caribbean Adventures voucher for canopy, horseback or tubing excursions, redeemable at the resort tour desk.

SuperClubs also helps couples start off on the right financial foot by offering a free consultation with a major U.S. investment bank representative who can help them plan for the present and future, from setting up a joint checking account to developing a long-term savings strategy. As a special wedding gift from SuperClubs, newlyweds will receive a 15-minute honeymoon photo session, and take home an engraved wedding album with four professional 5x7 prints with CD.

They also get his and her “Just Married” T-shirts. In addition to having their government/administrative fees waived, brides and grooms who extend their stay to at least seven nights will enjoy their wedding night for free. The duo will also take home a “Honeymooning in Paradise” tote to fill with souvenirs from their getaway. SANDALS RESORTS “NO WORRY GUARANTEE” ALLOWS TRAVELERS TO BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE

Insurance Priced at $99 per Adult and $79 per Child Grants Travelers Full Cash Refund in the Event of A Layoff.

MIAMI (May 1, 2009) – Unique Vacations Inc., the worldwide representative of Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts, The Royal Plantation Collection, and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts, today announced the “Sandals Resorts No Worry Guarantee,” an added benefit to the company’s optional insurance policy, which grants guests a full cash refund on their vacation should they be involuntary terminated from their jobs.

Beginning May 1, 2009, when guests purchase the Trip Mate Travel Protection Plan for $99 per adult and $79 per child, they will now have expanded coverage that includes the Sandals Resorts No Worry Guarantee, offering protection on travel to all four resort brands’ properties in Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua, The Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos.

“Today’s workforce is struggling with a very tough market, and an unpredictable economic climate offers little reassurance,” said Kevin Froemming, president of Unique Vacations, Inc.

“It is worrisome for many to book a vacation not knowing what the future holds. Through this expanded coverage, travelers can feel confident about making vacation plans, while still safeguarding their investment should life circumstances change.”

With the Sandals Resorts No Worry Guarantee, guests receive a full cash refund on the land portion of their vacation if they have been laid off from their jobs 30 days following their effective date of coverage.

To be eligible, travelers must have also been continuously employed with the same employer for two years prior to involuntary termination of job. Travelers can purchase the Trip Mate Travel Protection Plan, which includes the Sandals Resorts No Worry Guarantee, Cancel for Any Reason Waiver, and also protects against trip interruption and other unexpected events after departure, at the time of booking. For details, please visit http://www.sandals.com/.

*Not applicable for temporary employment, independent contracts or self-employed persons. Sandals Resorts No Worry Guarantee covers land-only portion of reservation. Travel Protection Plan must be purchased within seven days of initial reservation.

At Island Breeze Travel, we fully recommend Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts. Having vacationed at Sandals several times, we are fully aware of the value that these resorts offer compared to other resort chains.

Grand Lido Braco’s new “Girlfriend Getaway” package delivers with deluxe Super-Inclusive amenities and fun extras like cooking classes, windsurfing lessons, and pampering spa treatments, all for the starting price of just $916 per person.

According to the AAA Girlfriend Travel Research Project, women accounted for around 32 million trips last year, spending almost $200 million. On these vacations, they dined out (86 percent), shopped (74 percent), visited spas (73 percent) and went to the beach or pool (70 percent). Covering all the bases, Grand Lido Braco’s five-day/four-night “Girlfriend Getaway” package heeds the call, catering to gal pals of all ages in need of a warm weather respite.

Upon arrival at the AAA Four Diamond resort, named to Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best” Caribbean hotels list, the women are greeted with a bottle of Champagne in their “Royal Beachfront” accommodations.

A welcome basket stocked with Biodroga beauty products also awaits, before the girlfriends indulge in their complimentary manicures and pedicures, and choice of a 30-minute beachside massage or a basic facial at the Blue Mahoe Spa.

Novice and expert culinarians alike can sharpen their kitchen skills during an exotic Jamaican cooking and pastry class with the resort’s talented chefs. Then, after working up an appetite, they can dig in at one of Grand Lido Braco’s many restaurants, including Piacere, which serves nouvelle cuisine by candlelight, Munasan, which offers innovative Japanese fare with a sushi bar and Teppanyaki stations, and Reggae Café, favored for its local delicacies like jerk chicken.

Adventure buffs and sports enthusiasts can hit the turquoise waters for a complimentary private windsurfing lesson, or sign up for resort scuba diving certification for an additional $75, while landlubbers can improve their game at the resort’s nine-hole golf course with personalized instruction by the resident golf instructor.

And, with no greens fees, the group can practice their swing and play as much as they’d like. Beyond the resort, island escapades abound and those looking to explore can take advantage of the package’s two-for-one Chukka Caribbean Adventures voucher for canopy, horseback or tubing excursions, redeemable at the resort tour desk.
