Sandals Emerald Bay in Great Exuma, Bahamas, is adding 66 rooms as part of a $1 million renovation and upgrade to the resort’s golf course and dining options to celebrate the resort’s first anniversary. The new rooms and enhancements will debut on April 15.
The new accommodations include 18 new suites offering butler service, courtesy of Sandals Resorts’ partnership with the Guild of Professional English Butlers, and are available for booking immediately. In all, Sandals Emerald Bay will offer four new suite types, plus additional rooms in several other categories, creating a total of 249 rooms across the property by the end of May.
The new suites will be located in the Seaside Villa’s and include a Colossal Penthouse Constellation suite, with views overlooking the beach; a Colossal Beachfront Walkout Constellation suite, with a separate living area and direct access to the beach via a private outdoor patio; a Coco Plum Penthouse Grande Luxe Beachfront suite, offering an oversized room with a four-poster bed, modern décor with silver and blue accents and spectacular views; and a Coco Plum Grande Luxe Beachfront Walkout suite, with a grand room with mahogany furnishings and large patio com with beach access.
The enhancement will include a large-scale renovation of the Greg Norman-designed Sandals Emerald Reef Golf Club, including new maintenance equipment and irrigation system and a state-of-the-art Shark Shack Golf Lounge with new soft furnishings, interior seating area with poker table, a sandwich and coffee station and an outdoor deck featuring a barbeque pit. A new piazza offering traditional wood-fired pizzas al fresco will be added to the exterior of Dino’s Pizzeria. Sandals Emerald Bay will also debut Café de Paris, offering pastries, crepes, espresso drinks and gourmet coffees. Both additions will be completed by late spring 2011. The resort also features a 29,000-square-foot Red Lane Spa, featuring 17 treatment rooms.
