Sandals Emerald Bay Set To Offer Concierge Level Service In Addition To Butler Service

Effective for bookings made Friday, December 10, 2010 and onwards, Sandals Resorts International will amend its butler-service currently offered at Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas.

In an effort to maintain the high-level of service guests have become accustomed to from the company’s partnership with the Guild of Professional English Butlers, Sandals Emerald Bay will retain butler-service in its 33 Seaside Villas and 36 One-Bedroom Suites.

The remaining 114 rooms and suites at the property will become Concierge-Level, offering guests luxury amenities including his & her robes, in-room espresso makers and bars, 24 hour room service,  as well as private concierge service with a dedicated check-in lounge.

Caribbean Airlines launches Antigua nonstop service from JFK

In anticipation of a strong rebound in travel demand from the United States this winter, tourism officials have announced that Caribbean Airlines will begin twice weekly non-stop service from John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport to Antigua and Barbuda.

The Caribbean Airlines service will begin on December 14th, on Tuesdays and Fridays, and is expected to boost last minute holiday bookings and assist returning nationals looking for last minute deals. Service will originate from Port of Spain to VC Bird International Airport and return service from New York's JFK.

Tourism Minister John Maginley has welcomed the prospect of additional air service to Antigua and Barbuda at a time when all signs point to an increase in travel from the United States.

"I am particularly pleased with the timing of this service, since it will facilitate smooth connections from almost all North American gateways as well as European markets such as France, Italy and Germany,” he said.

“This aligns with our strategic vision of providing greater access from some of our key markets."

Airline officials reported a steady increase in bookings since a fare sale was launched ahead of the start of the new service.

Sandals Resort Recognized for Contribution to Growth & Development of Diving

Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa was announced as a Regional Winner of the 2010 PADI Americas Member Awards and received the “Divers Acquisition Award” for its continued contributions to the diving community. The award recognizes resorts that have been instrumental in advancing PADI entry level certifications, follow PADI’s philosophy and high standards, and create innovative ideas in attracting new divers.

The requirements to obtain the Divers Acquisition Award include distributing 100 PADI Certifications throughout 2009 and 2010, a minimum of 10% growth for PADI Entry Level over a twelve-month period, superior quality diver education, appearance and upkeep of dive centers and ingenuity toward diver acquisition.

Sandal Resorts offers more dives per day and more PADI Dive Masters than any other dive program in the Caribbean, including guided dives up to 85 feet in depth, utilizing Scuba Pro equipment and state-of-the art Newton Dive Boats.
